Really good

Lol. At the beginning I was so ready to hear the "Back to the future" theme.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4zSw2V _vW0Y <- That one!

But it never came haha. *no suprise there*

But this is really actually really good. I don't know if it's me and my attitude towards loudness, or if it's something else.. But in my opinion the first part of this song seems a wee bit loud :3 Loudness can be good, but in this case I don't know.

The part that I whole heartedly ADORE, is at 1:41! That's so damn nice right there. I got such a "age of empires" feeling right then and there.

Overall, this is a really good track man. I'm glad that you're interested in orchestral music! ;)

It's the best kind of music me thinks :)

Hey, thanks for reviewing back! Haven't received a review for a while so I appreciate you doing so.

Haha lol, it does sound a lot like the first part of it xD.

Probably my obsession to loudness. I'm more of a 'volume first, questions later' type of artist :P.

Yeah, definitely my favourite part of the song too.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for the great review!

Good times :)

Imagine being a composer during the good old Nintendo/Sega times, when games were actual games, and not just graphics. Some of the most memorable video game music I've heard is from that era; Mario, Sonic, Zelda, Monkey Island etc..

I think your music could have done well during those times :)

I'm glad to say that my ears aren't sore at all after listening to this loop for some time. Similiar tracks I've heard by others has made my brain all mushy after a couple of runs. I don't know if that's a common problem when using these kinds of sounds, but kudos to you for not giving me earbleed.

Really good job Emperor, I wish you all the best, and hope that you'll get featured in many flash games! ;)

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

In a time when man were men, and games were the stuff of legends....

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement, Tomppaah.
At the very least I try to make sure before I release anything that it doesn't hurt the ears on multiple listens (I actually had to tweak this one a bit to make so that wasn't the case), and I'm glad to see that I in some measure managed to do so.
I wish nothing but the best for you too!

This is..

No, not sparta.. But something that could be in a movie like sparta. I still have no idea how you are able to make these sound so good! :D

I just ADORE all your percussions! <3 They are soo damn good, all of em, in every track of yours. I'll be damned if I ever get to use these kinds of percussions in my track.. Be still my heart.

From beginning to end, there really isn't anything I could badmouth. Very nice transition from emotional, to action. The action part evolves very nicely, and there's a lot of stuff going on. I like that! :D Keeps it really interesting ;)

Ooh, the swell at the end, this is really giving me goosebumps!

For a track spanning over 5 FL studio projects, this is truly something that deserves a live orchestra. :P

10/10
5/5

EvilRaccoon responds:

Thanks so much Tomppaah! I'd so love to put a live orchestra to my pieces! Ahh always a dream.

We should get our collab moving soon :P

Awesome fb guy!

Keep it up dude! You seem to be very successfull here, no doubt that you deserve it! 8)

Lithorph responds:

Haha well to look at the score out of 5 im not that successful but i guess i got a few listens :D Thanks for your review man.

Pretty great man.

I just love whatever instrument you used in the beginning. It creates this huuuge depth in the intro, damn, you reall get to hear everything. ;D Great work on the mix there. 1:05 Came as a little suprise to me, but It would work better if I could hear it along with a game or flash or something ;D. From there on it sounds like things are starting to happen., Sorry, but I haven't read the story behind this *lazy*, but instinctively I start to think about the Snes FF games.

This track doesn't just tell the story of one event, there's a handfull of 'em.

I enjoyed it. :) Keep makin them like this! ;)

Calamaistr responds:

I will :)

Whole album is going to be much like this but ofcourse some of the tracks will be more of a complete track instead of scenes, thing is the novel is so large that i had to put some scenes together in the same track. :)

Im sure you would like it even more if you read the story :)

Oh yess

This is very good! It's got this uplifting feeling all over it. How can you not feel like winning after you've listened to this? Really reminds me of the music from Mario Kart 64. Keep it up man! :)

Compaq272 responds:

Hehe which one from Mario Kart 64? I have it and haven't played it in forever so I don't remember which one you might be talking about.

Gravey hits the jackpot once again

Awesome man, just awesome :) Commenting on the high pitched ringing would just be nitpicking. From what I hear, this is a perfect chillin' type tune, and I wouldn't be suprised if someone would come up with the perfect flash for this. Great job as always Gravey :)

Gravey responds:

Thanks for the kind words. They are appreciated.

-Gravey-

As a loop...

...it gets a 9. As a song? Well, I can't give a score for that as it's way too short :)

I think I can hear some artefacts here. Sounds like it's skipping some beats or something, also there's a slight distortion goin on. Despite theese facts, it's a really great little loop! Keep it up!

Hahaha

a 10 becouse it's funny, hahha :D

Beautiful

I can hear that you're a very experienced composer. May I ask how long you've been making music? :)

<3 the pizzicatos at 0:32

Don't hesitate to contact me regarding ANYTHING about music! :)

Roverbreath responds:

Hey there! Thanks for the good review! I grew up playing piano, and have been composing as a hobby for about five years. The pizzicato strings are always more midi-friendly than that legatos.
